Biography—Dianna Wright, Ph.D.

Dianna has over 20 years experience as a coach, teacher, and facilitator and an extensive background in performance psychology, motivation, personal mastery, and leadership development. She incorporates a depth of knowledge into her coaching, providing her clients with an awareness and appreciation of the strength and power they have to be the creative power in their life. Dianna offers her clients a broad range of assessments, tools, and experiential learning opportunities, which spark a transformation in their attitudes beyond self-imposed limitations to truly envisioning what is possible for them.

Dr. Wright is an Olympic level and life long athlete who understands the commitment, confidence, risk, and energy necessary for achievement in excellence. Her passion is in empowering her clients to be the creative power in their lives. Dianna motivates her clients to move beyond their perceived boundaries and limitations and engage in self-direction and personal effectiveness to create results and reach their goals.

Dr. Wright is a faculty member with University of California, Davis, Department of Business and Leadership Extension. She has worked nationally with Fortune 500 companies, entrepreneurial, non-profit, and government agencies to optimize leadership and team effectiveness. A unique offering through UC Davis that Dianna spearheads is an opportunity for individuals and teams to enhance leadership skills and personal mastery through the game of golf.

Dianna is an avid runner, cyclist, and enjoys hiking and backpacking. She incorporates her experiences in the backcountry in her coaching and teaching. Her experience climbing Kilimanjaro at 19,340’ was instrumental in adopting the mountain as a metaphor for the CORE Journey. That adventure intensified Dianna’s conviction and understanding that we all have the capacity to be the creative power in our lives. Her belief led her to start The Wright Coach. She uses her own experiences in helping her clients achieve what they want in their own lives.

Before creating her business, Dianna spent 13 years coaching at the university level. The variances in performance peaked her curiosity on how the mind affects performance and happiness. Her studies and research in Psychology and the Sport Sciences reinforced her conviction that when people are aware of and can manage their thoughts, emotions, and language, it has a major impact on their lives.

Following the completion of her Ph.D., Dianna spent 12 years in the corporate world with a Fortune 100 company in sales, training, and management development. A conflict of values led her to leave the company and pursue her own business. She applies her personal experience, practical knowledge, and capacity to connect with and inspire people to help them learn the necessary skills for personal effectiveness. She offers her clients a heartfelt, safe, and positive experience.
